Srixon has announced the fourth generation of its popular Q-Star golf ball, the company's two-piece offering that blends durability and affordability.

The next generation of Q-Star features a lower-compression Energetic Gradient Growth core, which has variable stiffness and firmness to deliver the proper feel and distance control for each shot type. A more efficient 338 Aerodynamic Speed Dimple pattern has been designed to offer more control and predictability in the wind. The third-generation SpinSkin coating to promote more spin with shorter clubs and reliable spin from any lie. Altogether, the ball, priced at $25 per dozen, is said to outperform the previous generation.

“The Q-Star’s built-in tour technologies should help golfers see great performance in every aspect of their golf game,” said Michael Ross, Senior Product Manager at Srixon.

The fourth generation Srixon Q-Star golf ball launches in North America on Aug. 18, 2017.
