The 2017 British Open Championship weather forecast looks to include the chance of a lot of rain at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England.

The general weather forecast calls for winds picking up throughout the course of the championship, with temperatures in the mid-to-high 60s and a strong chance of precipitation half the championship days.

Of course, as with any British weather forecast and any Open Championship forecast, these conditions can change quickly and unpredictably. That means being on the right side of the draw is almost impossible to predict.

2017 British Open Championship weather forecast

  • Thursday: 64 degrees, partly cloudy, 20 percent chance of rain, W 16 mph winds
  • Friday: 66 degrees, 80 percent chance of rain, SSE 24 mph winds
  • Saturday: 64 degrees, rainy, 90 percent chance of rain, SSW 9 mph winds
  • Sunday: 66 degrees, some showers, 50 percent chance of rain, W 14 mph winds
