Tyrrell Hatton and Thomas Pieters and Alex Noren were at the green on the par-3 11th hole at Le Golf National in Paris for the first round of the French Open, when they were interrupted by someone trying to wade their way into the water hazard guarding the green.

Was it a volunteer? A crazed fan? Nope. It was Haotong Li's mom, and she had been asked by her son to head back into the hazard to try to find the putter he deposited in there after making bogey on the hole.

Being the great mom she apparently is, she did as her son asked and went to get the club in the mucky water while the group now playing the hole awaited her finishing her fishing expedition.

And then she got the club, pulling it from the water...only to find that her son had broken it in two. She had only managed to get half of the club out of the hazard.

Hatton and Pieters absolutely lost it, doubling on the ground in laughter. Haotong's mom, somewhat disgusted, threw the broken putter piece back in the water. Then she went to her purse to get out some tissues to start wiping off some of the muck off her legs.

What a mom.
