2017 Quicken Loans National Thursday’s first round: Leaderboard, featured groups, tee times, TV, pin placements

The 2017 Quicken Loans National begins on Thursday (June 29) with the first round from TPC Potomac (formerly TPC Avenel) in Bethesda, Md., near Washington, D.C. The first round begins right at 7:15 a.m. Eastern time, with players teeing off two tees on the first-time tournament host.

Billy Hurley III is defending champion in a field headlines by Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Patrick Reed, all vying for the $1,278,000 first-place prize from the $7.1 million prize pool.

A starting field of 120 players teed off in threesomes on Thursday at TPC Potomac, with the 2017 Quicken Loans National Thursday tee times run from 7:15 a.m. Eastern time through the final group at 1:54 p.m. Here are some marquee groups throughout the day.

TV times and how to watch online

The Quicken Loans National airs on TV on Thursday on Golf Channel, with coverage going from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Eastern.

On the Golf Channel app and on golfchannel.com, streaming coverage beings at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. On PGA Tour Live -- on their website and on Twitter -- two channels of streaming coverage begin at 7 a.m.
