2017 US Open: Saturday third round pin placements, hole locations

The 2017 US Open Saturday pin sheet has been released for the third round, continuing the first national championship at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. The hole locations are a big unknown this week, as it's unclear where the USGA will use on each hole, each day.

Let's look at the hole locations (pin placements) as selected by the USGA.

2017 US Open Saturday third round pin placements

Some things to note:

  • The hole location on No. 4 should be difficult, even with the softer turf, as the landing area is very small to get near it.
  • On the par-4 10th, the pin is brutal left, though the hole somewhat invites a draw to the green.
  • The pin on No. 18 would have been the toughest on the green were it firm. It'll still lead to some nasty misses long and left of the green.
