The 2017 LPGA Tour schedule may well be the best in the history of the tour. The 35-event docket boasts nearly $68 million in prize money, an all-time record and an increase of nearly $5 million over last year.
LPGA Tour commissioner Mike Whan announced the schedule that includes four new events and the 2017 Solheim Cup. The new events are in Green Bay, Wis.; Indianapolis (at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway); Scotland for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Women's Open; and New Zealand for the national championship.
The Lorena Ochoa Invitational will also move from the penultimate spot on the schedule to the spring, becoming the Lorena Ochoa Match Play with 32 players.
Departing the schedule are the Coates Golf Championship, Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic and the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.
Of the 30 returning events, 11 will have bigger purses, including the $5 million U.S. Women's Open, which will be the higest LPGA purse in history.
