World No. 1 Lydia Ko appears to be ready to make an equipment switch for 2017.

Ko will be leaving Callaway Golf to go to Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) for next season and beyond, according to a Golf World report.

The New Zealander has been a Callaway Golf staffer since turning pro in 2014, winning a pair of major championships and taking the No. 1 ranking in the world using their equipment and wearing Callaway apparel. Neither Callaway Golf nor PXG people commented on the report.

Of course, the insinuation is that that PXG is willing to pay more money than Callaway for the Kiwi golfer, but it's unclear what might motivate the change.

Ko would head the women's staffers in the PXG lineup that currently includes Gerina Piller, Cristie Kerr, Alison Lee and Beatriz Recari.
