PREVIEW: FootJoy Hyperflex 2 golf shoes

FootJoy has evolved the HyperFlex golf shoe, reimagining the BioMorph exoskeleton from the original 2015 shoe in a new model.

The Hyperflex II (2) has a waterproof, soft yet tight-knit upper that is surrounded by the FlexGrid 3.0 BioMorph pattern that is adhered to the upper mesh. The exoskeleton is designed to mimic the muscles and ligaments of the foot, delivering support and cushioning in a flexible, lightweight package that feels natural while offering the lateral support golfers need in the swing. The BioMorph is also a practical way of creating stability in the shoe, designed, like memory foam, to maintain its shape over time.

The Optimized Performance Stabilizer at the rear of the shoe provides stability for the heel and motion control to keep the golfer's feet from losing control as weight shifts. The Next Evolutionary Outsole uses SoftSpikes Tornado cleats by SoftSpikes built into thin TPU that offers flexibility for the swing and durability of wear.

As for cushioning, FineTunedFoam 2.0 is in the midsole. Made from a softer and lighter EVA blend than the original, the cushioning is designed to deliver energy back to the golfer's foot.

The FootJoy HyperFlex II shoes come in three colorways: black, silver and red/white/blue for $190 each. A Boa model in blue and silver ($210) will be available Sept. 15.
