Charl Schwartzel moves to PXG from Nike Golf ahead of British Open

Charl Schwartzel has left Nike Golf, moving to Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) just in time for the 2016 British Open Championship.

Dr. Bob Parsons, founder and owner of PXG, as well domain registrar GoDaddy, made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

Schwartzel, the No. 21 player in the world, won on the PGA Tour earlier this year, using Nike Golf equipment to win the Valspar Championship for his first victory on American soil since the 2011 Masters.

The South African joins a burgeoning PXG staff that includes defending Open champion and two-time major winner Zach Johnson, former FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel, Chris Kirk and two-time PGA Tour winner James Hahn.

The company is yet to announce the makeup of Schwartzel’s PXG bag.
