Anthony Kim is getting into the Dallas food scene. The former -- and maybe again someday -- PGA Tour player is the financial backer of a new restaurant in the area called Nikkei.

Nikkei is an Asian-fusion restaurant from a pair of restaurateurs who also own a trendy bar called Citizen. While investors might think of Nikkei as a Japanese stock index, in culinary culture it means a blend of Japanese and Peruvian influences, something popularized in the Nobu family of restaurants.

The bar will make an Old Fashioned (great choice), featuring Japanese whiskey and hand-cut ice cubes. CultureMap Dallas also reports there will be a drink called Hachi's Buzz, which will feature chamomile tea-infused pisco, Junmai sake, and honey liqueur garnished with dried chamomile buds.

The place will also have a rooftop bar called Mizu, and Nikkei will have late hours on the weekends while offering a weekend brunch.

Kim is backing this restaurant, as well another called Stirr from the same partners behind Nikkei.

So, no golf, but you might see A.K. in his digs one night, which he bought into using some of that cash from his Tour days and maybe from his reported eight-figure insurance policy that's paying off as he has stayed away from competitive golf since 2012 with a thumb injury.
