Corey Nagy, Blake Olson, Ethan Tracy and Mackenzie Hughes all earned spots in the 2016 Wells Fargo Championship through the Monday qualifier.
To even have a chance at one of the four precious spots in this week's field at Quail Hollow, you had to shoot 7-under 64 at Gaston Country Club. That's tough sledding, but that's precisely what these four guys did. Nagy led the way, finishing as medalist with 8-under 63. The other three players shot 64, eliminating any need for a playoff.
However, there were six guys who would have loved for any of the three guys who finished in second to drop one shot. Instead, those half-dozen players were locked out of a spot into the field.
Nagy, 27, is a Charlotte, N.C., native, so he's playing a home game this week. The UNC Charlotte product played four times on the Web.com Tour this year but hasn't in 2016.
Olson, a grad of Georgia Southern, turns 25 at the end of June. He's made two Web.com Tour starts this year, finishing T-10 at El Bosque in Mexico.
Ethan Tracy, out of University of Arkansas, is preparing to play the Mackenzie Tour this year in Canada. Last year, he played all 12 Can Tour events, finishing 40th on their Order of Merit.
Speaking of Canada, Mackenzie Hughes is Canadian. He's played seven times on the Web.com Tour this year, making four cuts and earning just shy of $10,000. He's 99th on the money list.
