PREVIEW: 2016 Titleist NXT Tour, NXT Tour S, Velocity golf balls

True to its product cycle, Titleist has come out with new versions of its popular NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls, as well a redesigned Velocity ball, built for more distance.

The 2016 NXT Tour has a larger center piece of the ball's dual core to produce lower spin and higher ball speeds for improved distance through the bag. The Fusablend cover is softer and delivers more spin on scoring shots. The spherically tiled 302 octahedral dimple design has shallower edge angles for a higher ball flight that keeps the ball higher longer into the shot so that it comes down steeper and stops quicker.

The S model, which is designed for feel, has a new softer compression core, combining with the even softer Fusablend cover to improve feel. The cover lacks the shallowed edge angles on the dimples to deliver a more piercing ball flight. The S model is also available in white and optic yellow.

The 2016 Titleist NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls are now available for $45 per dozen.

The 2016 Velocity ball uses the company's larger LSX core technology to improve ball speed, lower spin and deliver high ball flight with long roll-out. A thinner NAZ2 cover improves short-game feel over prior generations.

The 2016 Titleist Velocity golf balls are now available for $35 per dozen.
