Well, that escalated quickly. The 2015 British Open will finish on Monday with a fascinating last two groups.

Jordan Spieth went out and shot 6-under 66 well ahead of the lead groups, posting 11 under par for three rounds and keeping his hopes for a single-season Grand Slam alive. He'll play in the final round with Jason Day, who is one shot better than the 21-year-old American after a Sunday 67.

However, they'll be in the penultimate group, leading the way before a final group no one could have seen coming.

Irishman Paul Dunne will be the first amateur since Bobby Jones in 1927 to have at least a share of the 54-hole lead in the Open Championship. The 22-year-old UAB product shot 6-under 66 on Sunday to share the lead with Day at 12 under. Dunne's 204 total is the lowest-ever by an amateur in 144 Open Championships.

He'll be joined by 2010 Claret Jug winner Louis Oosthuizen, who took the title the last time the Open was played at the Home of Golf.
