Natalie Gulbis plans to retire after she has kids

Natalie Gulbis will walk away from the LPGA Tour once she becomes a mother, and that's going to happen sooner than later. Speaking at this week's North Texas LPGA Shootout, Gulbis said she intends to finish the 2015 season, then she'll consider starting a family.

"(I'll play) until I have kids, so hopefully I have kids sooner than later," Gulbis said.

Gulbis married Josh Rodarmel in December 2013. The 34-year-old Gulbis is in her 15th LPGA season after she turned pro at 18 in 2001. She has just one LPGA win, the 2007 Evian Masters, on her resume. She hasn't finished inside the top 50 in five starts this season.

The desire to start a family combined with the realities of the professional golf grind leave Gulbis thinking very little of a return to touring life after having kids.

"I don't think so," Gulbis said. "Maybe coming back out to cheer for the younger players."
