Marc Leishman may miss next week's Masters to be by his wife's side as she battles an illness.

Audrey Leishman thought she had the flu, but as symptoms worsened, she was taken to a hospital near the couple's Virginia Beach, Va., home and was placed into a medically induced coma while undergoing further treatment.

“Our family appreciates everyone’s thoughts and concerns," Leishman said in a statement to the Australian Associated Press. "We ask that everyone respect our privacy through this difficult period. Please keep Audrey in your prayers.”

Leishman qualified for the Masters by finishing 2014 inside the Official World Golf Ranking top 50. Were Leishman to withdraw, the current Masters field would be reduced to 98 after Tim Clark already withdrew citing an elbow injury. Leishman would not be replaced in the field.
