There hadn't been an ace at the par-3 fourth hole during a PGA Tour event at TPC Blue Monster at Doral since 1989. That is, until Saturday, when there were two in the space of 20 minutes.
Dustin Johnson and J.B. Holmes made holes-in-one at the 207-yard, water-guarded hole.
Then it was Holmes' turn, also with a 7-iron.
Holmes had a better celebration, even if a little goofy.
Perhaps the aces portended the contenders that would remain atop the leaderboard at the end of Round 3. Holmes is at 11 under par, five clear of Johnson and Bubba Watson heading into the final round.
