There's no easy way to say this, so: Ian Poulter shanked his tee shot into the water at the par-3 fifth hole in the final round of The Honda Classic, and it cost him the outright lead.
Poulter hit 8-iron so far right that it landed in a water hazard after bouncing off a cart path. Following a drop, Poulter hit his third shot to the green and left 15 feet for bogey. However, he missed the putt and dropped to 7 under par and into a tie for the lead with Patrick Reed, who holed his birdie bid from the mowed area off the green.
Then on the next hole, Poulter's tee shot went into the left-side water hazard, leading to another penalty stroke.
