Enough was enough. Third-round play has been called for the day at The Honda Classic.
After the second round was completed earlier in the morning, the third round beganĀ at noon ET. However, just four tee times in the split-tee start were able to get their round going before strong storms hit PGA National, causing a suspension of play at 12:51 p.m. At 2:51 p.m., play was officially suspended for the day.
The third round, which was originally set to resume at 7 a.m., will now kick back up Sunday at 10 a.m. ET with the intention of completing both the third and final rounds. However, finishing the event is extremely unlikely.
If the tournament spills over into Monday, expect a rash of withdrawals as a number of players in the field will be taking part in Seminole Golf Club's legendary pro-member event that day.
