80-year-old man kills friend after mini-golf argument

Charles Anderson was playing miniature golf inside his Shelton, Wash., mobile home with 51-year-old Scott Jeffries. The 80-year-old was winning hole after concocted hole, upsetting Jeffries. Jeffries, according to Anderson, attacked the elderly man, hitting him in the head several times.

Anderson told Jeffries to get away. Jeffries didn't. Anderson produced a gun hidden in his boot and shot Jeffries in the chest, killing him, then called the Mason County Sheriff's Department to report what had happened, according to KIRO-TV.

County prosecutors have filed second-degree murder charges against Anderson, but may well reduce the charge to manslaughter given Anderson's self-defense argument.
