A man crashes his car on a golf course, and the police aren't too far behind him. On the surface, it sounds an awful lot like the end of a high-speed police chase.
That wasn't exactly what happened in North Braddock, Pa., on Wednesday at Grand View Golf Club near Pittsburgh. A man crashed his SUV on the fifth hole at the course and had local media convinced the scene was a nasty end to a car chase. Multiple reports suggested the SUV had been stolen and the local police were trying to track down the man.
Not so. The police later reported they weren't chasing the man, and the trashed SUV hadn't been stolen. The cops aren't saying much more than that, but the man apparently tried to roll down the same hill he did behind the wheel of his car to escape the police. It didn't work.

Apparently, the beverage cart girl had to dive out of the cart as the SUV came barreling down the hill.

And, of course, golfers reacted naturally to the news.
“@astockeyWTAE: #breaking high speed chase ends with crash on 5th hole of Grandview Golf club in North Braddock @WTAE” good. Hate that hole
