Some of the best golf footwear Nike Golf makes is inspired by their past. Be it design, function or both, Nike Golf has a lot to draw on to create an appealing shoe for golfers.

They've added a pair of attractive shoe styles, the Lunar Waverly and Lunar Mont Royal, to their Versatility collection just in time for summer.

"The Lunar Waverly and Lunar Mont Royal were inspired by classic Nike footwear styles, and we adapted those designs for athletes who want a golf shoe with versatile appeal,” said Carl Madore, Nike Golf innovation design lead.

The shoes are built with comfort and, yes, versatility in mind so that a player can go from the course to the clubhouse to the range again and feel good in a single pair of kicks.

The spikeless "waffle sole" design provides traction and stability while keeping the player feeling like they're in a pair of sneakers.

On the Lunar Waverly ($140), the outsole of the shoe shows the work of the company's research lab, showing the pressure mapping of the foot through the golf swing in different colors and patterns. A rubber cup-sole provides lateral support underneath a waterproof full-grain leather upper. Cork is used in the sock liner for the first time in a Nike shoe, adding comfort with little weight, also helping to prevent foot odor from seeping into the shoe.

The Lunar Mont Royal ($100) features Lunarlon foam in the heel and no-sew technology in the midfoot. The waffle sole is featured on the outsole, but is extended up around the toe and the inner side of the foot, aiming to maintain traction as the feet move on and off the ground through the swing.
