The new Vokey Design SM9 wedges will make their debut this week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui, Hawaii. Players will have a chance to put them into play after working with players to fit them for some fresh grooves.
Like everything Titleist does, Bob Vokey and Aaron Dill work on a two-year cycle for new releases. The pair come up with prototypes, test out designs and grinds, and then work with professional golfers to dial in fitting for the clubs.
More details on the wedges, including specs, features and pictures, will be unveiled later in January. Dill will be taking custom orders on SM9 wedges from PGA Tour players at The American Express, the first mainland US PGA Tour event of the year, in three weeks.
