Rory McIlroy goes to “Anchorman 2” premiere Down Under

Insert recitable "Anchorman" line here, adapted to fit either golf, Rory McIlroy, Australia or all three.

Rory McIlroy is Down Under this week to play in the Emirates Australian Open, still looking for his first win of calendar 2013. En route to Royal Sydney G.C. to tee it up, McIlroy flew alongside "Anchorman 2" star Will Ferrell and attended the Aussie premiere of the film.

"It was very funny. Obviously, I think everyone loved the first 'Anchorman,' and the second was just as good," McIlroy said, according to PGATour.com.

"It was great to be a part of it last night and be invited and see it for the first time. The flight over, all the crew were over on the flight as well, but we were all very tired so most of us just put our heads down and got straight to sleep. It was great to meet all the crew, and obviously a big fan of Will Ferrell and Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, and a few of the other guys who are part of the cast."

WHY DOES NO ONE EVER REMEMBER DAVID (stops to Google who plays "Champ Kind") KOECHNER? The problem is, despite all of his glory, the sports anchor of the erstwhile Channel 4 News Team is the least memorable from the first film. Hopefully the continuation of the Anchorman saga rectifies that gross oversight.

Anchorman2-GNN

We here at Golf News Net, affectionately referred to in shorthand as GNN, will not be suing the creators of the film for naming their fake 24-hour cable-news channel Global News Network, also GNN.
