They buy golf clubs, OK?

There's nothing fancy about this TV ad for a Tennessee golf shop.

Mike Mixson owns Mike's Golf Shop in Chattanooga, Tenn., and he shot this ad using his phone. It's now running on local TV, but it's become a bit of a minor phenomenon on YouTube, where it's been viewed over 100,000 times. The ad has been shared in industry circles for its sheer effectiveness and hypnotic chant.

We buy golf clubs!

It's almost too ... something ... to be true. It just screams hoax. But it's not. It's real. Check out the guy's Facebook page or the Mike's Golf Shop page.

And the publicity has turned him into a minor celebrity. Morning and drive-time radio shows throughout the country have invited Mixson to be a guest to talk about the ad, then have him cut a promo that they probably will air for a couple of weeks.

Forbes and MSN have reported on the guy -- Adweek, too. Comedy Central's viral video show "Tosh.0" featured him on their website.

But buying and selling used golf clubs (here's his eBay presence) isn't Mixson's first dip into entrepreneurialism. He's into guitars, too, running a store called Guitar Galleria. And the guitar store and the golf shop, which opened July 2012 according to the shop's website, have the same address.

Even better, if you're looking for a job in the Chattanooga area, Mike's Golf Shop is hiring.
