Jordan Spieth introduced himself to the Presidents Cup and the American golfing elite on Wednesday with a practice-round ace on the toughest par 3 at Muirfield Village G.C.

Spieth hit a "smooth, straight" 7-iron at the 173-yard par-3 12th, and it wound up in the cup for an ace. The 20-year-old John Deere Classic winner got kudos from everyone in his practice group, including Tiger Woods, Jason Dufner and Matt Kuchar.

Spieth made the Presidents Cup team as a captain's pick of Fred Couples, who admitted he selected Spieth because of brewing public sentiment that the youngster deserved an opportunity on the Presidents Cup stage to shine.

It's not entirely certain who Spieth will be paired with in the first two days of the Presidents Cup, but a popular pick is Steve Stricker, with whom Spieth played a practice round at the Tour Championship two weeks ago.
