Rory McIlroy sends fan handwritten ‘thank you’ note

Rory McIlroy has a lot of fans around the world, including some that are especially committed to Team Rory (or should we call it Rory McIlroy Inc.?).

Michael Crew is one of those guys. From Indiana, Crew's Twitter handle is @indianagolfpro, but in the name slot, it says '#1 Rory Mcilroy (sic) Fan." Obviously he tweets with the erstwhile world No. 1 often, but he also is a fan of Upper Deck trading cards and memorabilia, with whom McIlroy has a signing deal.

At a recent signing, McIlroy took time to pen a letter to Crew. Upper Deck authenticated the letter and sent it to Crew, who was at the 2012 BMW Championship when McIlroy won the third leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs at Crooked Stick.

The letter was delivered on Wednesday and it reads:

Michael,

It was great meeting you in Carmel at the BMW. It was a great event and I was lucky enough to walk away with the title. All the best to you and your family!

Sincerely,

Rory McIlroy

Pretty cool.
