Apparently, the interaction between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia on Monday at Merion Golf Club and the 2013 U.S. Open was brief. Very brief.
Woods was asked about the exchange between the two when Garcia approached Woods on the practice range, shaking his hand.
“We didn’t discuss anything. He just came up, said ‘hi,’ and that was it," Woods said Tuesday in a news conference.
Woods' answer was brief, looking to move well past the row Garcia began at The Players Championship when he accused Woods of breaking decorum with a club selection at TPC Sawgrass. The spat culminated in Garcia using a racial epithet at a European Tour function when discussing his potential reconciliation with Woods. Garcia apologized twice for the comment, saying he would seek out Woods at Merion to apologize in person.
Apparently, that was good enough for Woods, who said Garcia did not personally apologize to him on Monday.
He said, "It’s time for the U.S. Open.”
