The southpaw will be playing Southwind in a few weeks.

Phil Mickelson has added the FedEx St. Jude Classic just outside of Memphis to his schedule. Mickelson has not played the tournament, which will be played in two weeks at TPC Southwind, since 2009 when he finished T-59. Prior to that, his only other Memphis appearance was a missed cut in 2001.

Mickelson tends to play the week before a major championship, typically tuning up for the Masters in Houston (though it was scheduled a week earlier than usual this year), the Scottish Open in July ahead of the Open Championship and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational before the PGA Championship.

“What can you say that hasn’t already been said about Phil Mickelson,” tournament director Phil Cannon said in a release. “He’s one of the all-time greats in our sport, and we’re ecstatic that he’s chosen to play our tournament again.”
