What can't Twitter do? Apparently nothing because Ben Crane found his pro-am caddie for the HP Byron Nelson Championship on Wednesday through a 140-character message.
Crane had a four-part tweet on Tuesday evening, saying:
Thinking of giving my caddy @JoelStock the day off tomorrow at the HP Byron Nelson Champ ProAm. Anyone want to carry my bag for the day?
If you're interested hit me back on Twitter w the reason why it should be you. Use #caddyforcrane. I'll try to pick the best good one.
You don't need to know anything about golf, but have to be able to carry a 50 lb bag for 18 holes. Tee off at 12:20 at TPC Four Seasons
Tournament is in Irving, TX so probably have to be in DFW area. Most creative "resume" in a tweet wins. #caddyforcrane
A little over three hours later, after Crane received a litany of submissions of all kinds asking for the gig, the Golf Boys member announced the winner.
Introducing my @hpbnc ProAm caddy, @mojogolfng360. Tomorrow is his birthday. Thought caddying would be a fun gift. Let's go low, buddy!
Then yesterday, Crane tweeted out a picture with his looper for the day.
New tagline for @twitter: "Instantly connect to what's most important to you...& hire a ProAm caddy" @mojogolfng360 twitter.com/bencranegolf/s…
