There's nothing more heartwarming, I mean, embarrassing than a couple of really rich guys who double as politicians using the sport of golf to jab each other about their policy promises.
That's just what Ohio governor and blowhard John Kasich did at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night in Tampa, Fla.
“Folks, let me tell you this – Joe Biden disputes a lot of those facts, but Joe Biden told me that he was a good golfer. And I’ve played golf with Joe Biden, I can tell you that’s not true, as well as all of the other things that he says,” Kasich said.
Then again, Biden makes a lot verbal gaffes, so maybe he just messed up the words "good" with "mediocre," or "golf" with "using inopportune word choice depending on audience demographics."
Other than America, which should collectively weep for the pathetic nature of our politics, golf is the big loser in this exchange. Golf is further relegated to the larger public discourse as a joke made by a wealthy guy about another wealthy guy.
Mr. Kasich, less than 10 percent of the country plays golf. Can you just leave it alone?
