Woods, McIlroy to be paired at The Barclays

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will be paired together for the first time on the PGA Tour during next week FedEx Cup playoff opener at The Barclays.

Woods and McIlroy are Nos. 1 and 2 in FedEx Cup points, which the PGA Tour uses to decide Thursday and Friday groupings for the first two days of all four playoff events. With No. 3 Jason Dufner the only player in the field at this week's Wyndham Championship that could catch or pass McIlroy or Woods, the top two are assured playing together.

The reigning PGA champion and the world No. 3 have been grouped together before, playing for the first two days Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January.
