After earning his second Open Championship win, Ernie Els is now the 15th-ranked player in the latest Official World Golf Ranking.
The South African moved up 25 spots with his fourth career major win.
Tiger Woods, who finished T-3 with Brandt Snedeker, moved up two spots to second behind Luke Donald. Woods trails Donald by 1.37 points, overtaking Rory McIlroy for the second spot by .07 points. Woods has not been ranked this highly since January 16, 2011.
Lee Westwood is fourth, dropping a spot to his lowest rank since May 9, 2010.
The idle U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson remains fifth, while Lytham runner-up Adam Scott improves seven spots to sixth. Bubba Watson, Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar and Justin Rose round out the top 10.
