In case you missed it yesterday, the BBC has posted video of a fan being struck by an errant tee shot Rory McIlroy hit at the par-4 15th in the first round of the Open Championship.

The drive to the right struck the fan in the head, then careened another 20 yards barely out of bounds. McIlroy went on to make double bogey on the hole, but not before offering the fan, 16-year-old Jason Blue, an autographed glove and hotel accommodations for the night.

“After what happened, Rory didn’t want him in a tent, he wanted him somewhere comfortable where someone could keep an eye on him,” McIlroy’s manager, Conor Ridge, told The Scottish Sun newspaper in the U.K. “He’s put him up in a hotel and given him a bit of pocket money for dinner with his pal.”
