What is President Obama’s golf handicap? He reveals how good he is

President Obama is pretty good at golf -- not great, not bad. He probably could be better considering how many rounds of golf he's played -- now at 300 rounds -- during his two terms as Commander-in-Chief.

However, we didn't know Obama's handicap until David Feherty got the state secret-like information out of the 44th President of the United States in a recent interview.

"I'm an honest 13," Obama said, meaning that he would shoot around 85 for 18 holes on a standard par-72 golf course if he played an above average round.

Obama's assessment of his golf skills -- and he's a lefty golfer -- were pretty brutal.

"I think my irons are good," he said. "My drive is straight but unimpressive in length, and my putting's decent, chipping is OK. My sand game is terrible."

Obama has come under fire from Republicans during his seven-and-a-half years in office for how often he plays golf. However, Obama has played golf basically every 10 days in office, making him no more frequent of a golfer than the average gung-ho player. The guy is the leader of the free world, certainly, but the man -- or anyone who holds the office -- is entitled to take a handful of hours out of every week-and-a-half to decompress a little bit.

Besides, that figure still falls way short of President Dwight D. Eisenhower's astounding 800-plus round tally while taking residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
