The 2016 Open Championship kicks off on Thursday from Royal Troon in Scotland, a venue where Americans have won the Claret Jug the last six times the British Open has been played there. That would seemingly make Americans better favorites, but we have four co-favorites heading into the third major of the year.
Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson are all on the board at 8-to-1 heading into the championship. Zach Johnson, the winner in a playoff last year at St. Andrews, is going off at 50-to-1, or half of what he went off at last year.
