The 2016 French Open, or Open de France, is the 100th edition of one of the world's longest-running golf championships. The European Tour sought to protect and celebrate the tournament by offering bonus Ryder Cup points for the event and not sanctioning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, played the same week this year because of Olympic schedule shuffling.
Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite this week, by far, going off at 4.5-to-1 odds at Le Golf National in Paris. Martin Kaymer is next best at 14-to-1, while Francesco Molinari, Lee Westwood and Danny Willett are all going off at 16-to-1 odds.
