The 2016 U.S. Open will tee off from Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh, Pa., with the club hosting the national championship for a record ninth time.
One of the hardest courses in the country, Oakmont will prove a stern test for defending champion Jordan Spieth, who seeks a third career major at just the age of 22. As is tradition, Spieth will be grouped for the first two days of the U.S. Open with the defending Open champion, Zach Johnson, and the U.S. Amateur champion, Bryson DeChambeau, who is now a pro. They'll tee off on Friday at 2:20 p.m. from No. 1.
Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Masters champion Danny Willett are grouped together for the first two days. World No. 1 Jason Day draws Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott for the first two rounds. Six-time U.S. Open runner-up Phil Mickelson gets his second crack at completing the career Grand Slam at Oakmont, grouped with 2013 winner Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson for the first 36 holes.
