Here’s the skinny on Jason Day’s red TaylorMade Spider Itsy Bitsy putter

You may have noticed Jason Day is using a red putter. However, the world No. 1 is not using a new head.

Day is still using the same TaylorMade Spider Itsy Bitsy head he's used with such success; it's just painted red where his usual head is painted black and dubbed the Spider Limited Red.

This limited model was launched at the Northern Trust Open in February, but Day has since offered input to make more of the head red than just the back weight ports. The dark red color emulates the shade of red found on the stomach of the Australian Redback spider.

Other than the color change, the putter is the exact same design Day has used since the 2014 Barclays.

And good news! TaylorMade is going to do a limited release of the Spider Limited Red, which is pretty much matte red throughout, and the Spider Limited, which is the version with the red only on the weight ports.

TaylorMade will sell 15,000 Spider Limited putters at $220 each, while only 2,000 Spider Limited Red putters will be sold for $300. They'll be available only in 35-inch right-handed models on June 3.
