In the opening round of the 2016 Masters, Rory McIlroy will pay homage to one of his sporting heroes.
McIlroy, as Golf Channel reports, will wear a pair of Nike Golf shoes in a black and gold colorway to honor Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant, who is retiring at the end of the season. Bryant's final game will be April 13, a date McIlroy will have on his kicks at Augusta National.

The Lakers have faced a miserable regular season, carrying a 16-61 record into the final five games of the season. Bryant's team is in last place in the NBA's Western Conference by four games.
In his final season, Bryant has played 61 games and averaged 16.8 points per game.
