When ESPN announced last year it was making a "30 for 30" documentary about John Daly, the golf world had a euphoric response about the film's potential.

We'll see how the film turned out in March, when it premieres at the 2016 SXSW festival, March 11-19 in Austin, Texas.

The film, titled "Hit It Hard", is a 50-minute movie which looks at Daly's early career, including going from ninth alternate to 1991 PGA champion at Crooked Stick and winning the 1995 Open Championship at St. Andrews, while following Daly, now 49, as he prepares to play on PGA Tour Champions.

Gabe Spitzer and David Terry Fine are the directors of the film, with Dan Janvey producing.

No word yet on when "Hit It Hard" will air on ESPN.
