Inbee Park's back problems manifested themselves in Thursday's LPGA curtain dropper at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, and an opening-round 80 convinced the seven-time major winner to take off the next month.
“I’ve always had a little lower-back problem and some weeks it just gets a bit worse and today happened to be one of those days,” Park said, according to the LPGA, after withdrawing following Round 1.
Park also withdrew from next week's Coates Golf Championship in Ocala, Fla. The 27-year-old is hoping to return to the tour at the Honda LPGA Thailand, to be played Feb. 25-28.
She said, “Hopefully, in Thailand, I’ll be in really good shape."
