The days are getting shorter, the temperatures cooler. That means it will soon be time for winter golf, and anyone who plays when it's chilliest knows good winter golf gear is absolutely crucial to surviving the experience. That includes a great winter golf cap.
A great winter golf cap has to do a few things: fit well enough to cover your entire exposed skull, not fumble around while walking or swinging and, finally, be comfortable. So, if you're looking for a new winter golf hat, Imperial Headwear's Sideliner cap is an excellent choice.
The company sent me a hat, which retails for $30, to try. It looks like cap you used to wear when you were little and had no choice, or that you might've have worn when you got older to look a little retro or ironic. The gray and red color scheme of the soft acrylic fabric for the outer shell is appealing, while the three-color pom is a fun touch. It doesn't move when you swing. The 3-inch cuff is also great for folks with big heads, giving them some extra room to make sure the cap covers their ears. On the inside of the hat, insulating fleece lining keeps the hat in place and your head warm in it.
Some folks prefer a skull-style cap, and that'll make them shy away from the Sideliner, but those hats are often tough fits for folks with larger-than-normal heads. So, if you're not afraid of having a pom on your head in exchange for being warm, this is a great choice.
