Jesper ParnevikĀ is apparently equally willing to part with his clothes and his money.

On Tuesday night, Sweden help a star-studded nationwide fundraiser -- more or less, a telethon -- to raise money for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. The UNHCR is providing aid and assistance forĀ emigrants leaving the Middle East and north Africa, trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea and find a new home in Europe, often in crowded, unsafe, and often unmanned, vessels organized by human smugglers for insane sums of money.

During the broadcast, hosts showed a picture of a naked Parnevik lying on a bed with a piece of paper simply saying 100,000 on it to cover up his genitalia. That was Parnevik's way of announcing that he was donating 100,000 Swedish krona -- about $12,000 -- to the cause.

The whole night appears to have been a huge success, with the Swedish people donating some 40 million krona, or about $4.78 million, to the UN campaign.
