If there's any good news that comes from the rumor and reports that Tiger Woods and Amanda Dufner (Boyd) are romantically linked, it's that it took heat off of Woods' struggles on the course.
However, Woods would probably much prefer to deal with questions about his future on the PGA Tour and as a major contender than if he's hooking up with a PGA Tour player's ex-wife.
That said, Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told Golfweek on Wednesday from The Greenbrier Classic that the rumor wasn't true.
"I couldn’t deny this more vehemently," Steinberg said. "There is less than zero strand of truth to it. 100 percent false. 100 percent fabricated and zero credence. Absolutely, unequivocally untrue. They are not even acquaintances. It’s absolutely ridiculous."

Tabloid site RadarOnline.com published a report claiming the rumor was true, saying Woods flew Dufner out to Seattle from Alabama, where she had been living with Jason near Auburn when they were married, to spend a few days with him as he prepared for the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay. The report also claims the pair have been together in some capacity for months and that, perhaps, their relationship was a sticking point in the dissolution of the Dufners' marriage, which officially ended in March after three years, and Woods' relationship with Lindsey Vonn, whose three-year run ended in May.
