The winner of the 2015 U.S. Open will win a staggering $1.8 million, as this Open will be the first with a prize pool of $10 million, matching the PGA Championship, Masters and The Players Championship as the richest tournaments in pro golf.

Second place will earn $1.08 million as part of the standard payout table that gives 18 percent of the purse to the winner and 10.8 percent to the runner-up.
