Tiger Woods has an 8:39 a.m. tee time on Friday morning for Round 2 of The Players Championship, and there's a fair amount of history on the line.

Woods has never missed the cut at TPC Sawgrass in 16 prior starts, although he did withdraw from the tournament in 2010 and 2011 with injuries. After his first round of 1-over 73, Woods is T-78 and on the wrong side of the cut line by a shot.

Were Woods to duplicate his Thursday effort, he'd likely wind up going home and missing his 13th career cut in an official PGA Tour event.

Here are the dozen times Tiger Woods missed the cut on the PGA Tour:

1997 Bell Canadian Open, 70-76--146 (+6)
2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship, 69-72--141 (+1)
2005 Funai Classic, 68-73--141 (-3)
2006 U.S. Open, 76-76--152 (+12)
2009 British Open, 71-74--145 (+5)
2010 Quail Hollow Championship, 74-79--153 (+9)
2011 PGA Championship, 77-73--150 (+10)
2012 Wells Fargo Championship, 71-73--144 (E)
2012 Greenbrier Classic, 71-69--140 (E)
2014 Quicken Loans National, 74-75--149 (+7)
2014 PGA Championship, 74-74--148 (+6)
2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open, 73-82--155 (+13)

Woods is a two-time winner at The Players, back in 2001 and in his last start in this event in 2013. He's just six shots back of four players tied for the lead at 5 under par.
