The 2021 PGA Championship will be played on the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, S.C., according to the Post and Courier. The PGA of America will make an official announcement on Friday.

It will be the second time the Pete Dye-designed course host the year's final major, with Rory McIlroy winning his second major there in 2012 by a record eight shots.

While the course was a great major championship test, the championship was mired with logistical nightmares, including transportation to and from the venue. With only two roads onto the island, getting in and out proved difficult, even without a massive Saturday storm.

The course opened in 1991 and was immediately thrust onto the international stage as host of the '91 Ryder Cup, known as The War on the Shore. It has also hosted the 2007 Senior PGA Championship.
