If you saw Troy Merritt playing on Friday at the RBC Heritage, you probably thought a couple of things:
1. Why doesn't he shoot 61 all the time?
2. What shirt was he wearing?
Well, maybe they're connected, but let's handle the fashion first. Merritt was wearing the Berkeley shirt from Sligo Wear, a Canadian-based company that has outfitted the likes of Brian Gay in the past. They tend to have bright colors and styles in their portfolio, and this button-up shirt is no different.
It has a long placket for the buttons, as well as front faux pockets and tack stitch. It retails for CDN85 or $69.50.
Now, Merritt might be wearing this shirt again because he shot his 10-under 61 at Harbour Town wearing it for the first time.
"It's the first time I've worn this shirt, (and) my wife (Courtney) said I've got to shoot at least 6 under," Merritt said, smiling, after his round. "I don't know if I get to wear it again … but we had fun out there."
