Daniel Chopra, Lance Lopez, J.J. Killeen and Thomas Birdsey all locked up spots in the 2015 Valero Texas Open on Monday in the first four-spot on the PGA Tour since the Puerto Rico Open.

Chopra and Lopez were medalists at The Club at Comanche Trace, each firing 6-under 66.

Killeen and Birdsey shot 67 each, along with Ian Berrigan. After a playoff, Berrigan was left on the outside, alongside 68 other players who finished the 18-hole event but failed to qualify.

Background info on each player:

  • Chopra finished T-38 in his last PGA Tour start at the Puerto Rico Open.
  • Killeen, who last had PGA Tour status in 2012, is making his first start under the PGA Tour umbrella in 2015 and his first PGA Tour start since losing that status.
  • Lopez, 27, who played golf at the University of Texas, has been cleaning up on the Adams Golf Tour, but hasn't been able to crack many starts on the Web.com or PGA Tours.
  • Birdsey is 24 and a former Texas Amateur champion and will be making his first PGA Tour start as a pro
