The WGC-Match Play Championship appears to have a new home.

The Associated Press reports Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, will host the 2016 edition of the 64-player tournament. Dell is expected to become the title sponsor of the event, according to three anonymous sources cited by the AP.

The 2016 edition will be March 23-27, two weeks prior to the Masters.

A private developer has proposed the construction of a new championship-caliber golf course on 735 acres of land at Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park. The $15-20 million proposed course is supported by former PGA Tour player Joe Ogilvie. It's unclear if there is any connection to the tournament's move to Austin and the proposed development, although the PGA Tour has visited the proposed site and view it favorably, according to supporters.

San Francisco's TPC Harding Park is serving as a one-off host to the event in 2015, which will be played April 29-May 3, the week before The Players Championship.
